Perl Scripts: Photoview |
This is the homepage of Photoview, my integrated image viewer and thumbnail
gallery perl script. I have here a help.txt file for the script, the script
itself, and a link to the script in action on my site.
Photoview can be both very easy to use, but also very customizable--to completely change the look, all you have to do is edit the html in the program that it will print out.
New! Version 1.55! Allows infinitely long photo gallery titles!
View / Download Photoview 1.55a -- Displays images in one column
View / Download Photoview 1.55b -- Displays images in two columns, using <table> tag
View / Download Photoview 1.55c -- Displays images in three columns
View photoview.pl in action: version 1.55a / version 1.55b / version 1.55c
The future of Photoview:
There are two main features that I want to add to photoview.pl. The first, and simplest, will be simply cleaning up the code to shorten the program and increase readability. The second will be to find some way to actually shrink the full-sized picture in the picture viewer subroutine in size before sending it to the web-browser. How it works now is that the full image is sent to the web browser, but the browser is told to shrink it to a certain pixel size. This eats up bandwith and slows down the viewers.
